Used Clothes Appeal
Dochas Nasamu Orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya, which is an Irish run and Irish build aids orphanage, are holding a used clothes appeal of ladies, gents and childrens clothes, shoes, household lines ie towels, sheets, soft toys etc. This appeal will take place on Tuesday the 16th of July from 9am to 11am at the Dean Maxwell Car Park. For further information please contact Marie on 087 6890995.
Pauline Karan is the team captain and says that the Roscrea Rockets came together because so many of them had family members or friends who were affected by cancer. As part of the team’s fund-raising, herself and Donnacha Ryan are holding a coffee morning at their house in Sheehills, Roscrea this Saturday 13th of July from 11am to 3pm, so please come along and support the worthy event (and have nice cuppa as well!).
The members of the Roscrea Rockets team have sponsorship cards, and you can also support their efforts in that way over the coming weeks. A very special moment at Relay is the Candle of Hope ceremony which takes place as darkness begins to fall. Last year, 4,000 Candles of hope were dedicated by people all over the county to someone they know who has been touched by cancer. If you would like to remember somebody in this way, Pauline will have Candle of Hope forms, or you can get them from any members of the team.
