Old School The Commons, Slieveardagh Fieldtrip - We are hosting a fieldtrip to the mine workings and collieries of interest in the area on Saturday 9th - Sunday 10th March. On this trip there will be a variety of features to see, including engine houses, historic buildings, shafts, and gantries and other 20th century installations. Underground access is expected to be possible at some locations, via mine inclines. Those expecting to go underground should bring appropriate clothing.
Programme will take in The Commons, Gorteen, Earlshill, Mardyke and Lisnamrock Collieries, as well the isolated features Copper Steeple and Ballynunty Drainage Level.
Handouts and maps covering geology and mining history will be distributed on the day. The trip begins at the Old Schoolhouse at 10.00am on Saturday and at Lickfinn colliery at 10.30am on Sunday. Mohober N.S. - Mohober N.S. will hold a Table Quiz on Fri, 15th March in Amby’s Bar & Lounge in Ballingarry. Adults table of 4 €20 & Juveniles table of 4 €10. Please support for evening fun & lots of prizes.
Ballingarry G.A.A. - On the 9th March in O’Sullivan Park, Ballingarry’s G.A.A. field, Tipperary and Kilkenny minor hurlers will play a challenge game at 3pm, a date to put in your diary. As you all know our own William Maher is again in charge of the Tipp Minors for 2013 with the intention of winning back-to-back All-Ireland titles.
Ballingarry Tidy Towns - Will hold a meeting this Thursday night, 28th February, in Jimmy’s Bar at 9 o’clock. This meeting is in relation to implementing our 2013 plan for the competition. If you can help out in any way please come along. New members more than welcome.

Ballingarry. If you would like to help collect litter in your area, Tidy Towns can provide you with Litter Pickers, Disposable Gloves and Plastic Bags.
