G.A.A Action - Congratulations to Mullinahone Senior hurlers who won the South Senior Hurling title on Sunday night last. Congratulations also to their mentors.
In their 21 years of senior hurling Mullinahone have appeared in 13 South Finals and only lost 2. This is a proud record. Mullinahone are now through to the last 8 of the County championship.
Tidy Towns - The Tidy Towns meet every Thursday evening (weather permitting) at approx 7.30 p.m. in the church car park. All volunteers are very welcome to attend, with no obligation to attend every week. Also if you are digging out bulbs, the group would be delighted with these bulbs especially daffodils, tulips, bluebells and snowdrops. Your help and support is needed – Remember many hands make light work.
Kickham Country Weekend - It’s Kickham Country weekend time again, this year the event runs from Friday, August 10th to Sunday, August 12th.
Programme of events as follows. Friday August 10th – 7.30pm Cheese & Wine Reception with official opening by Dr. Catriona Clutterbuck (Dept of English U.C.D) followed by lecture entitled “ The Trial and execution of the Cormack Brothers at Nenagh 1858” by Nancy Murphy (Nenagh Historian).
Saturday 11th, 1.30pm Guided bus Tour of Clonoulty parish. 8.30pm Lecture “ The Trial and Execution of Fr. Sheehy at Clonmel in 1776” by Frank Holohan (retired inspector an Dept of Education & Science). Sunday, August 12th – 11.30am Anniversary Mass for C.J Kickham and James Maher followed by oration and wreath laying by Mr. Jim Cawley (past President of An Comhaltas). 3 p.m. Poetry Reading & Music in Killaghy Castle walled garden. Guest poet Patrick Moran.
