Sympathy - We extend the sympathy of St. Patricks G.A.A. club to the Meagher family, Lismoynan on the recent death of Billy Meagher. Billy was one of the best footballers of his day but work commitments took him away at vital times. His grandson Robert Meagher is a prominent member of present day St. Patricks hurling and football teams while Grand-daughter Jenny had some great days in Ladies football and continues her involvement in Australia at present. On arrival in Cloneen, Billy’s funeral was met by a guard of honour of past and present players. Due to an oversight the St. Patrick’s flag was not on Billy’s coffin. We apologise for this error. May he rest in peace.
