There are already 29 participants confirmed and so there are only a few places left for the annual and ever popular winter gathering in the Scottish Highlands from February 11 to 15. This offers walking at all levels from ice and snow climbing to lower level rambling. Ray Creaney is again organising a special introductory winter climb of Ben Nevis for those who have not been up this famous mountain before. The climb is non-technical and just requires reasonably good fitness and an ability to walk in crampons. Ray has offered to take the group for practice walks in the meantime and it is also hoped to arrange crampon practice. If you might be interested you can get further information from Ray at 086 3202633.
Meanwhile on Sunday next, Jan 8, we are of to the hills once again with the usual high level hill departing from outside Cashel fire station at 11am
