PINK RIBBON WALK FUNDRAISING CONCERT: On Friday next, April 8th the “Great Big Pink Ribbon Gig” will be held in The Pop-up Playhouse, Killaloe (field at the Denary). Seven choirs from Clare, Tipperary and Limerick will be in ‘full voice’. Tickets @ €15 (concession, €12) are available at The Forge and Ponte Vecchio. All proceeds will benefit the annual Pink Ribbon Walk event.
MONTHLY WALK: The local walking group’s April Walk will take place on this Saturday, April 2nd. Ballina Church gate is the assembly point for interested walkers at 11am. Last month ten walkers had a most enjoyable morning traversing the hills of East Clare and enjoyed a picnic on the shores of Lough Grainey.
QUAY PLAYERS: The recently formed amateur drama group, Quay Players is currently planning its next production, which they hope to present at the end of June. They are currently looking for new members both for acting and production. If you are interested in joining the group please contact Quay Arts on 061 622487 by Friday, April 15th.
LOCAL SCOUTING ACTIVITIES: The Monday Beavers enjoyed a fantastic day out last Sunday in Dublin. The visit to the popular Zoo was enjoyed in glorious sunshine. After lunch they travelled to St. Patrick’s College in Drumcondra for the “Star Scout Show”. This is a show produced by Scouts, for Scouts, families and friends. Many thanks to those who organized the trip. You are reminded that booking for the upcoming Stage 4 and Stage 5 Training courses closes this weekend.
RECYCLING CENTRE OPENING HOURS: From Saturday last, March 19th new opening hours were introduced at the Nenagh Recycling Centre, Limerick Road. The Centre will no longer open on Mondays and will operate Tuesday to Friday from 8.30am to 4.30pm and on Saturday from 8.30am to 3.30pm.
BALLINA JUVENILE GAA: The start of the training season for U6 (mixed) and U8 (boys) is Saturday next, April 9th. Last season fifty-two under 6’s registered on the first morning, so the 2011 season will be very busy one and it is a good idea to get your subsidised helmets and hurleys in advance.
