On Sunday last April 12th, the Cashel Club travelled to Thurles for the Area 27 Final of the International Speech Competition and Evaluation Competition which took place in the Anner hotel.
It was a splendid afternoon and much credit is due to the area Governor, Patricia Loughnane and the Thurles Club for all their efforts. Representing Cashel in the speech competition were Fidelma Collins and Mairead Wade and in the Evaluation Competition; Finnuala Greene and Fidelma Collins. Tom Russell also took part in both competitions representing Thurles. The speech winners came from Clonmel (Thomas O’Neill and James O’Brien respectively) and the winning evaluators came from Thurles (Tommy Kennedy) and Cashel (Fidelma Collins). Our next Cashel Club meeting takes place this Friday night, April 17th in Halla na Feile, Canopy St, at 8pm. Looking forward to your company!
