Minister of State Tom Hayes has encouraged couples who are planning their wedding in 2014/15 to consider the Rock of Cashel as a possible venue for their nuptials.
The OPW is now looking to increase the number of sites which may be offered as locations to intending couples and is currently working with the HSE to assess the suitability of various locations. Iconic sites such as the Rock of Cashel and also Newgrange are also available. Tipperary Minister Tom Hayes said: “The Rock of Cashel is the most iconic location in Tipperary and is recognised globally. It attracted over 200,000 visitors last year and would make for the most unique wedding venue. I would urge anyone who is planning a wedding in the next year or so to consider the Rock. I look forward to the announcement of further approved locations in the near future, so that couples who intend to hold Civil Ceremonies can avail of some of Tipperary’s most beautiful, iconic and atmospheric venues.”
