Fitting Tribute - The fifth annual Tribute Dance to the late Johnny Barrett was held in the Castle Arms Durrow on Wednesday night, April 24th. Johnny was a noted figure from Cork who played his excellent music all over Ireland and was a most loved musician.

He passed away in December 2008. His memory will never die, every year Connie and Mary Thompson organise a wonderful night with seven bands in the Castle Arms. This year was no different to former years where dancers came from far and near to support a wonderful cause. All proceeds were donated to Laois Hospice. The Chairman, Seamus O’Donoghue received the cheque for 3,235 euro. He sincerely thanked Connie and Mary and all their wonderful supporters for making Johnny Barrett’s tribute such a success.
