A great evening was had in Borrisoleigh in the Clodagh Bar on Friday night last, with a table quiz hosted by the Cloadagh Macra club. The table quiz was a fiercely contested affair coming down to the last round and still ending in a tie.

The tie breaker round quickly followed which then left two teams still standing. The competition heated up and it then went to sudden death questions.

The eventual winners were the bar staff of the Clodagh Bar; Gerry Treacy and Ian Cleary.

The winning or losing question, depending on which team you were on was: “How many on screen lovers did Ken Barlow (of Coronation Street) have?”. If you think you know, send your answers on a postcard to the Clodagh Bar. The Clodagh Macra club would like to thank all who showed up to support their quiz and all those who brought spot prize’s for the raffle.

All clubs are reminded that the closing date for the county round of the National Talent Competition has been extended from this week to March 22.

So if you haven’t prepared an act you still have two weeks left to prepare one. Updated rules for the competition are available on the Macra website
