The Late Padraic Stapleton -

The death occurred on 16th February of Padraic Stapleton, Ballycurrane, Thurles following an accident. Aged 22 years he was well known in the Thurles area and a most popular young man. Following Requiem Mass in Two-Mile-Borris Church the burial took place in the local cemetery. Clergy in attendance at the Mass were Fr. Pat Coffey (Thurles) Chief Celebrant; His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Dermot Clifford, Archbishop of Cashel & Emly; Fr. Martin Hayes, Adm. Thurles; Fr. Lar Dunphy and Fr. Oliver Maher (both Urlingford); Fr. Jimmy O’Donnell (Cashel T.J.); Fr. George Bourke P.P. and Fr. Joe Tynan C.C. (both Moycarkey-Borris). The tragic circumstances of his death caused much grief in Thurles and the surrounding areas and the attendance at his funeral testified to that with an overflowing crowd present. Sincere sympathy is extended to his parents, John and Bridget (nee Maher, Skehana), Brid (sister), his aunts, uncles, grandfather, relatives and a very large circle of friends. May God comfort them on their great loss. Rest in peace.

Month’s Mind Masses - The Month’s Mind Mass for Mary Doyle, Galbertstown, Holycross will take place on this Friday, 8th March in Holycross Abbey at 8 p.m. Mass for Larry Hayes, McDonagh Terrace, Littleton will take place on this Saturday, 9th March in St. Kevin’s Church, Littleton at 7.30 p.m.

Collection - The annual Church Gate collection for the Multiple Sclerosis (Tipperary Branch) will be taken up this weekend 9th and 10th March at all Masses. Your support appreciated.

The Late Nora Foley - The death has taken place recently of Nora Foley (nee Sweeney), Liskeveen, Littleton, predeceased by her husband Jimmy. Her remains were removed from Egan’s Funeral Parlour, Thurles to St. Kevin’s Church, Littleton. Burial took place in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Moycarkey following 11.30 a.m. Requiem Mass. Chief celebrant was Fr. Joe Tynan C.C. assisted by Fr. George Bourke P.P.; Fr. Emmet O’Hara S.C.A. Deeply mourned by her son Billy, daughter Kathleen, daughter-in-law Kitt, son-in-law John, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.
