Cheer - This year Christmas came early to Rathdowney. On Sunday evening, 9th December the Christmas lights were switched on by Leah Quigley Hayes while a very large crowd were present and gave a huge applause. There was great excitement, Santa was in the Community Centre meeting all the children, giving out toys and dancing with them. Representatives from the G.A.A. from kids as young as the U/7’s to the Seniors were all present with the recently won Cups. Entertaining everyone was Helen, Margaret and Michael with Donal Ryan and Councillor John King singing their hearts out. In the Community Centre there was a welcome cup of tea.
