Late Bridget (Grover) Hogan - The unexpected death occurred on Wednesday, October 10th. of Bridget Grover, Lorrha. Nee Hogan, Rathcabbin, Bridget who was 52 years of age spent a number of years in the U.S. before returning to reside in Borrisokane at first and then Lorrha a few short years ago.

Predeceased by her mother Mary Anne ten months ago, Bridget who comes from a well known local respected family, always kept the fair side out and had a kind word for all she met and talked to despite her illness and strived to help others when her health allowed her to do so. On her return to her native parish, she immediately immersed herself in church activities and as a home career for her elderly parents. She took great pride in Lorrha Village and celebrated its success in the Tidy Towns with the local group of which she was a valued member. Her familiar routinely walks was often interrupted for a chat with whoever she met along the way and the ‘half hour’ stroll became much longer but she made no secret of the fact that she enjoyed both the stroll and the chat.

Bridget will be sadly missed from the community but more so by her family. Her remains reposed at her uncle and aunt’s home in Lorrha where she grew up and also St. Kieran’s Rathcabbin before removal to St. Ruadhan’s Church Lorrha on Friday evening, October 12th. Funeral Mass took place the following day, Saturday, followed by burial in the adjoining Cemetery. Sympathy is extended to her son Liam, to Bob and to her father Billy, brothers Willie and James, sisters Mary and Freddie, her uncles Liam and Thomas, aunt Bridgie, nieces, nephews, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, extended family, cousins and friends. May she rest in peace.
