Rosegreen Field Day

The gods were on the side of Rosegreen on Sunday evening as the rains stayed away for the Annual Field Day, as regular patrons came from all directions for what has become a very popular August Bank Holiday event.

The U8’s hurling blitz alone was worth the entry fee, with some great entertainment being served up by teams from Clerihan, Golden, Boherlahan and Rosegreen. The team from the village running out the eventual winners, thus keeping the Charlie Power Cup at home.

Dog Show’ once again proved to be very popular. James Kennedy, from Cahir taking the top prize with his Staffordshire Terrier ‘Vic‘.

The Childrens Sports were well supported the winners coming from far and near. Fabian Ryan, from Cashel catching the eye in the U/8’s sprint.

Leanne Fogarty, representing Morrissey’s Super Valu, Cashel was crowned ‘Queen of the Green’ at the Festival Dance in a packed Community Hall on Sunday night.

Field Day 2012 proved to be another outstanding success for the hardworking organising committee who give tirelessly of their time and commitment for the good of the community.
