Retention Sought for Telecom Masts

METEOR Mobile Communications Ltd has appealed to An Bord Pleanala in relation to a decision made by South Tipperary County Council on May 4th. The Council granted permission for the retention of an existing 25m high telecommunications monopole (26.8m high includung antennae) with attached transmission dishes, at Mount O’Meara, Newpark, Cashel. Eight conditions were attached. Meteor appealed this decision on May 15th. The case is due to be decided by September 17th.

Separately, Vodafone Ireland Ltd has appealed a decision by the County Council relating to replacing an existing permitted temporary 30m structure with a 30m multi-operator tower carrying telecommunications equipment, cabinets and security fence around the site, at Aughnagomaun, Horse and Jockey. Nine conditions were attached by the Council. The case is due to be decided on or before September 18th.
