The death occurred on August 15th of Donie Coleman 32 Railway View Templemore. Aged 65 years, Donie died at his home in the care of his loving family.
A native of Templemore – born and reared at McDonagh Terrace - he will be sadly missed by all who knew him for his quick wit and sense of humour.
Donie could be described as real gentleman who lived each day to the full and hadn’t a care in the world.
In his younger days he worked with local farmers and builders who recognised he was reliable and a hard worker.
He also worked in Triplex for some years. In his spare time Donie loved to get out in the fresh air to spend time hunting or fishing.
Donie married local girl Eileen Morrissey in 1964. He was well known as a lovely dancer, and Eileen and himself would often give a display of ‘Jiving’ at local dances.
Together they had 15 children, one daughter Doris died at birth, and a grandson Martin Dean died at 8 months.
Sincere sympathy is extended to his wife Eileen at this sad time, also to his children, Anthony, Don, Sandra, Siobhan, Shirley, Tina, Laura, David, Martin, Helen, Denise, Lorraine, Peter and Jonathan, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, brothers, sister, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
Donie’s remains were removed from Grey’s Funeral Home to the Church of the Sacred Heart Templemore.
Following Requiem Mass burial took place in the adjoining cemetery.
May he Rest In Peace.
