C.L.C.G. Naomh Padraig - On Wednesday of last week St. Patrick’s Junior ‘B’ hurlers defeated Killenaule by 11-15 to 0-4 in a championship game played in Fethard. The team was: Declan Ryan (Captain), Anthony Barry, Keith Browne, William O’Brien, Robert Meagher, Aaron Cronin, Kieran Clancy, Dermot Molloy, Patrick Moroney, Brendan Gleeson, Tom O’Connor, Keelan O’Neill, Mark Slattery, Noel Brett, Eamon Needham. Subs: Mick O’Connell, John Brett, Aodhan Maher, Mark Fitzgerald, Daniel O’Riordan and Willie Power. The next game for this Junior ‘B’ team will be against Ballybacon-Grange on a date to be arranged.
The St. Patrick’s Junior ‘A’ hurlers play Ballingarry in Monroe at 7.30 p.m. on this Saturday, 18th June.
Our U/14 hurlers play Clonmel Og in Ned Hall Park, Clonmel at 7.30 p.m. on Monday, 20th June while our U/16 hurlers play Mullinahone on Thursday, 30th June at 7.30 p.m. in Mullinahone.
On this Friday evening our U/12 hurlers play Fethard at 6.30 p.m. in Fethard.
On this Saturday morning our U/10 footballers play the South Board Blitz in Monroe with games at 10 a.m.; 10.30 a.m.; and 11 a.m. All players to be in Monroe at 9.30 a.m.
On Sunday evening last in Monroe our Junior ‘A’ hurlers were defeated by Kilsheelan-Kilcash by 1-13 to 0-6. Team: John Moroney, Richard Needham, Colm Dunne, Darren Meagher, Jason Hayes, Conor Barry, Eoghan McCormack (Capt.), Shane Gorey, Patick Moroney, Dermot Molloy, Liam Brett, Neil Gleeson, Nicky Kearney, Tony O’Brien, Damian Barry.
On Wednesday next, 22nd June our minor footballers play Killenaule in the final of the County League.
St. Pats Ladies - Since the start of our ladies team early last year, St. Pats ladies have rapidly progressed to being real contenders in the League and Championship in their division.
Having won the Junior ‘D’ plate in their inaugural year (which was a really proud moment for the club), St. Pats ladies have performed well in the Junior ‘C’ league, beaten in the final by Clonmel Commercials after a nail biting final. The team now face into the Junior ‘D’ Championship which the girls will take on full heartily. First round of championship takes place in July. Keep an eye out for dates and times. Hope to see all the faithful supporters out again this year.
Training for Juniors held in Cloneen every Monday and Thursday at 8 p.m.
Juvenile girls training is held every Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Drangan field. Any change of day, time or location will be confirmed by text message.
The U/12 girls, a panel of 21 started their first league campaign this year. The strength, heart and success of the Junior ladies has encouraged our U/21’s to keep the faith. After 2 defeats to Boherlahan and Fethard, the girls got their first win over Moyle Rovers and Gortnahoe, giving them a firm base for success and further development. The girls face Moycarkey in the league final. U/12 training is set for Saturday afternoons at 2.30 p.m. in Cloneen.
