Rose of Tralee - Congratulations to Niamh O’Connell, Ballinlina, Golden who will represent Sunderland, England in the Rose of Tralee this year. It is a great honour to have a local girl in this very popular festival and we look forward to the excitement it is sure to generate in the parish. Good Luck Niamh.

Thomastown National School - Principal of Thomastown National School, Martina O’Keeffe will retire this year after 35 years in the school. A retirement celebration will be held on Wed. June 22nd to mark the occasion. The evening will begin with a special mass at 7.30 p.m. in Kilfeacle church followed by refreshments in Kilfeacle Community centre. All pupils both past and present, parents, friends and parishioners are invited to attend this special occasion.

Juvenile G.A.A. - The County Games Development committee will run a super camp in Golden from Monday 18th July to Wed. 20th July from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily. County coaches will conduct the camp. Camp is for 13 to 16 year olds and costs 40 euro. Each participant will receive a jersey. Application forms are available from Tom O’Donnell. All Ireland Youths Darts Tournament - In the recent All Ireland Youths Darts Tournament the Tipp ‘A’ team were outright winners and the ‘B’ team were runners up. Congrats to Niall Morrissey and Daniel Currivan who were members of the ‘A’ Team. Well done boys and keep up the good throwing.

Queen of the Suir Festival update - The Queen of the Suir Festival is almost upon us. Again we are appealling to anyone who can give a trailer for the timber auction or indeed anyone interested in donating items to the auction to please contact Michael Fitzgerald on (087) 2292126. Keep in mind our Festival bingo, Fashion show, Health Seminar, Kiddies festival Saturday and Queen of the Suir dance on sunday night which will all be held in the Community Hall.
