The Late Rodger Loughman - The death occurred on May 25th of Rodger Loughman, Hollyford Village and formerly of Foilmacduff at Deerspark Nursing Home, Lattin, Tipperary following a short illness. Rodger was born in 1930 shortly after the death of his father. He was a son of Larry and Bridget (nee Corcoran) and was one of a family of five boys and three girls. In his youth, Rodger spent some years working in England before taking up the running of the family farm. He was a hard working and efficient farmer and a great friend and neighbour. In the late 1990’s Rodger sold his farm and came to live in the Village.

Removal took place from White’s Funeral Home, Cappawhite on Thursday, 26th May to St. Joseph’s Church. Requiem Mass next day was celebrated by Fr. James O’Donoghue C.C Burial took place in the family burial ground in Kilpatrick. We tender our deepest sympathy to Rodger’s sisters Nonie and Babby, brother Harry, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, other relatives and his friends. May he rest in peace.

The Late Mauraid Gorham - The death occurred on June 5th of Mauraid Gorham (nee Fahey), Bagnor, Regis, Sussex, England and formerly of Glenough and Gortnahoe aged 61 years. She was a daughter of Jerry and the late Margaret (nee O’Dwyer), Fahey. Her father hailed from Bealacourey. Mauraid attended the National School in Hollyford and got her secondary education in England. She was a Nurse by profession and was very efficient, kind and caring. A Memorial Mass was held at her request in St. Joseph’s Church. Burial of her ashes will take place in the Fahey family grave in Hollyford Cemetery at a later date. Mauraid was predeceased by her husband Peter, her mother Margaret and recently her aunt Tess (Sadlier), Glenough. We tender our deepest sympathy to her son Sean, daughter Grace, father Jerry, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces and extended family and all her friends. May she rest in peace.

21st Birthday - Congratulations to Danny O’Brien, Foilmacduff who has celebrated his 21st birthday. Danny marked the occasion with a party for family and friends in Doon.

Recent Births - Congratulations to Brendan and Miriam Carr, Reafadda on the birth of twin girls, Maria and Orla, sisters for Daniel and Patrick and grand-daughters for John and Eithne Carr.

Collection - The Irish Cancer Society wish to thank the parishioners of Hollyford and surrounding areas who gave so generously to their recent collection. 513 euro was donated.

Recent Death - We tender our sympathy to Sean Nyhan N.T. Clonmel and formerly of Hollyford Village on the death of his wife Betty. May she rest in peace.
