Mini Marathon - 281 joggers, runners and walkers took part in the 10km mini-marathon at Moyne on June 6th which was held in cool but dry conditions and really enjoyed by all. Congratulations to the organisers for their excellent
preparatory work and particularly to the people who decided to have it at Moyne rather than make the long trek to Dublin. 73 participants were from Moyne-Templetuohy and in the male section the first three locals home were Liam Kelly, Diarmuid Fogarty and Paddy Doyle. In the ladies section the first three locals home were 1st Edel Hickey-Leahy who was the overall winner with a time of 43.50, 2nd Caroline Dunne, 3rd Lisa Quinlan. The overall winner in the men’s section was David Ryan, Ardfinnan 36.03, 2nd Jas Ryan, Dundrum 36.08, 3rd Vincent Argnall,
France 36.51. Thanks to the ladies who provided a welcome cup of tea to all participants after the event.
Get Together - Calling all those who have recently taken part in Moyne A/C Burma Challenge and Mini Marathon don’t let all that training go to waste, come along to Moyne Sportsfield on Wednesday evenings at 7.45 p.m. and head off for a walk, jog or run the Burma Circuit at 8 p.m., even if you haven’t taken part in the above events, feel free to come down and join in. This year we had 73 men and women taking part in Mini Marathon from the parish, we hope that they will continue with what they have started.
