Nenagh.ie will host its inaugural 10K run this Sunday, October 13. All proceeds from the event are being given to this year’s chosen charity, Aras Mhuire Day Care Centre, Nenagh.
Áras Mhuire Day Care Centre aims to promote the wellbeing of the elderly and younger adults with special needs. Those who operate the centre strive to enhance the quality of life for visitors, helping to reduce loneliness and avoid the risk of malnutrition.
Anne Hassett, manager, said: “The raised money will go directly towards outings and extra activities like flower arranging and art classes, that we currently cannot afford.”
The 10k race will start and finish from MacDonagh Park GAA grounds, with runners and walkers under starter’s orders at 10.30am. To register for the race log on to nenagh.ie. Online registration costs €15 + €1 booking fee and closes this Friday, October 11. Alternatively you can register in Adsmart on this Saturday, October 12, between 2pm and 4pm or 4 between 9am and 10am for €20. The first 200 entrants will receive a free high visibility dry fit running T-shirt.
If you don’t want to participate, but would still like to help, we are looking for volunteers to act as marshals on the route. If this is something you wouldn’t mind helping with, call 067-44444 to speak to Marie / Louisa.
Nenagh.ie and the Nenagh Day Care Centre thank the sponsors, Proctor & Gamble, Tipperary Water, Michael Scroope Insurance, Breo Jewellers, and Nenagh Eire Og GAA Club for the use of their facilities.
