Intercounty Hurling - Tipperary Senior hurlers will play Galway in a challenge match in Cloughjordan on this Sunday, 26th May at 12 o’clock. This game is being staged as a fundraiser for the recently opened Thomas MacDonagh Heritage Centre. Both teams are preparing for their respective provincial encounters and it is expected that both sides will field their strongest teams. The local Kilruane MacDonaghs Club will be in charge of stewarding arrangements to cater for a large attendance of patrons. So if you want to see some of the country’s top hurlers, MacDonagh Park Cloughjordan is the place to be on Sunday.
Mass Rock - Mass will be celebrated at the Penal Mass Rock in the grounds of Ardcroney Church on this Sunday, 26th May at 3pm. To remember the sacrifices made by our ancestors to attend Mass especially in the Penal days, parishioners will assemble at Cloughjordan and Kilruane Churches at 1pm and walk or travel by bicycle or horse and trap to Ardcroney Church. People are welcome to join at the beginning of the walk or at any point along the way. The theme of the day is ‘Connecting with the gift of faith that has been handed down to us’. Refreshments will be served after Mass in Ardcroney Hall.
Hurling - Kilruane MacDonaghs Junior ‘A’ hurlers were beaten by Burgess last Saturday while the Junior ‘B’ hurlers beat Ballinahinch in Cloughjordan last Sunday.
Heritage Group - The Cloughjordan Heritage Group would like to thank the local community for their generous support at the recent opening of the Thomas MacDonagh Heritage Centre.
