Birthday Celebrations - Congratulations to two local men who celebrated special birthdays recently. Gerard Fahey, Glenmorgan celebrated his 40th birthday with a party on Saturday night, 4th May in Monroe. A large crowd from Hollyford travelled there to help Gerard celebrate the special occasion.

On Sunday night, 5th May local Garage owner Frank Ryan, Glenpadden celebrated his 50th birthday with a large party at The Hollyford Inn. We wish them both many more happy birthdays.

Congratulations to two local ladies who celebrated birthdays, Ciara Hickey, Tooreen, daughter of Richard and Mary celebrated her 21st birthday with a party at The Hollyford Inn on Friday night last.

Niamh O’Brien, Gurth, daughter of Andy and Celia celebrated her 30th birthday with a party at The Hollyford Inn on Saturday night last.

Communion Day - Sunday. 12th May was First Communion day for three boys who attend the local N.S. Communicants were twin brothers Dion and Kallum Healy, Foilmacduff and their first cousin Kieran Fahey, Glenmorgan. Mass was celebrated by Fr. James O’Donoghue C.C. Congratulations to their parents, their teacher and all who have helped them prepare for this special day in their lives.

Annacarty Childcare - The mid term camp (20th to 24th May) brochure is now out, book as soon as possible as places are limited. This years Summer Camp is back, it will be bigger and better than ever before. Recent Deaths - We tender sympathy to Joe Ryan, Reafadda on the death of his brother Michael Ryan, Upperchurch; to the parents Michael and Marie and brothers of Philip Crowe, Milestone who died aged 24 years following a tragic accident. Burial took place in Hollyford Cemetery beside his grandparents; to Tim Costello, Milestone on the death of his brother Bill. May they rest in peace.

Confirmation Day - Ten children from the local N.S. were confirmed on Tuesday last, 21st May in St. Patrick’s Church, Kilcommon.

Fodder Imports - Three lorry loads of hay bales imported from England and two lorry loads of haylage bales imported from France by Dairygold Co-Op were distributed to farmers over the past two weeks to help alleviate the fodder shortage. More haylage bales from France are expected in the coming week. Grass growth locally is still very slow due to the unusually cold weather.
