Littleton Retirements

Three people retired from employment in 2012 in the parish of Two-Mile-Borris, Moycarkey, Littleton after many years of service to the community. Garda Bart Howard, The Cottage, Coolcroo and based at Thurles Garda Station, served in Littleton for sixteen years before transfer to Thurles. Bart was selected as the Thurles Credit Union “Person of the Year” Award.

John Hackett, Grawn also called it a day from Centenary Thurles Co-op after thirty eight years service. Both were the recipients of presentations at functions held in their honour. Dan Fitzpatrick, Ballybeg ended his involvement with Bord Na Mona after thirty two years. He had previously worked with Murphy Machinery in Littleton. All are wished health and happiness in their “Golden Years”.

Meanwhile the parish has a new Community Officer - Garda Chris Verling has been appointed by the Thurles Gardai to this role. So far he has been most helpful and carried out many duties with great efficiency.
