On this Wednesday evening 22nd our Minor footballers play Killenaule in the final of the County Minor football league in Fethard at 7.30 p.m.
On Wednesday next, 29th June our Junior Footballers play Fethard in O’Sullivan Park, Ballingarry at 8 p.m.
On Wednesday, 6th July our Junior ‘B’ hurlers play Ballylooby - Castlegrace in Marlfield.
On Saturday last our U/10 footballers defeated Moyle Rovers ‘B’, Clonmel Og ‘B’. Fr. Sheehy’s and Newcastle to win the South final of the Blitz. Players were: Denis Clancy, Quinn Moran, Patrick Griffin, Eoin Fitzgerald, Mikey O’Brien, Jack Meagher, Darragh Hall, Matthew McCormack, Robert Barton, Pairic O’Brien, Keith Morrissey, Luke Butler, Fearghail Keane, Angus McDonald, Jack Cuddihy. Due to injury Thomas O’Brien was unable to line out. Well done to all who helped to bring us our first South title of 2011. We thank the players and their parents, Team Manager Eamon Hall and selectors Declan Morrissey, Alistair McDonald and Noel McCormack.
On Friday evening last our U/12 hurlers defeated Fethard by 1-4 to 0-1. Team: Eddie Hayes, Michael Boland, Barry O’Dwyer, Jamie Broderick, Conor Duggan, Eoin Ryan, Niamh Keane, Brendan Kearney, Frank Meagher, Niall Mockler, James Fitzgerald, Ben Hennessy, Pairic O’Brien, Adam Cuddihy, Sean Ryan.
We expect our U/12 hurlers to be in action again on this Friday evening however details were not available at the time of going to print.
Congratulations to Jill Horan whose performance for the Co. Tipperary camogie team has won her ‘Player of the Month’ awards on two Sundays in a row. We wish Jill and her colleagues the best of luck as they play on the next 6 successive weekends. We extend the sympathy of St. Patrick’s G.A.A. Club to Mrs. Siobhan Vaughan Nash, Shankyle on the recent death of her mother, Mrs. Mary B. Vaughan, Ballingarry. As well as being a prominent ladies footballer, Siobhan was a selector with the U/14 hurlers who won the South final last year. Both the Vaughan and Nash families have a long history of involvement in the G.A.A. Ar dheis De go raibh anam Mary B. Vaughan.
