Courses For September 2011 – Colaiste Mhuire Johnstown is now enrolling for Further Education Courses for September 2011. One can book a place on any one of five courses on offer such as Welding/Engineering, Computers Level 5 and Level 6; Childcare Level 5 and Level 6. There are good job prospects with all of the above. Irish Summer Camp – A Summer Camp through Irish will take place in Colaiste Mhuire, Johnstown from Monday, July 18th to Friday, July 22nd. Handymac – Handymac Building and Maintenance Contractors are appealing for a person in need or a charity who require some conversion or renovation work done. Handymac, in association with Leatherm are willing to offer their name to complete this building project including the associated plumbing, heating and insulation work. Cemetery Mass – The annual Cemetery Mass will be held in Graine Cemetery this Friday evening at 7.30 p.m. Mill Cemetery Mass is on Thursday, June 30th at 7.30 p.m.
St. Kieran’s A.C. – On June 15th members of the club attended the ‘B’ Championships in Grennan, Thomastown. It proved to be a fantastic event with all our participants doing extremely well. Of particular note were Ben Guilfoyle who was placed 1st in the boys U/14 800m run and 2nd in the 80m sprint; Lauren Hayde was placed 2nd in the girls U/15 800m run and 2nd in the shot putt and Daniel Hanrahan was placed 3rd in the boys U/8 800m sprint and 3rd in the 300m run. Congratulations to all the athletes who participated, we’re very proud of each of you. We would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the very generous sponsorship of Daly’s Post Office and Shop, Lisheen Mines, Roadmasters and Spa Development Association. Training sessions will continue each Thursday evening from 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. and Sunday from 12 noon to 1.30 and new members are always welcome.
Urlingford Playschool – Urlingford Playschool for Little Learners at the Old School, Urlingford. Open Weeks will be held from July 4th to July 15th. During those two weeks, we offer a free morning for the children starting in September.
