The owner/occupier of a caravan living in Railway View has said he may be moving to Thurles, heard a Templemore Joint Policing Committee (JPC). The caravan has been at the centre of controversy for a number of weeks, as it is parked in a private area in public view.
The caravan has been at the centre of controversy for a number of weeks, as it is parked in a private area in public view. Supt. Gerry Delmar said he was not aware of any complaints from the owner of the property where the caravan is parked. “They did say they were moving down to Thurles. He is talking about moving this week. If he does not, there will be a problem,” said Supt. Delmar. Cllr Maura Byrne said the caravan could obstruct a Fire Brigade engine. The owners of the land “have not made any complaints to us about it now,” said Supt. Delmar. Town Clerk Tom McGrath said the amount of resources deployed in relation to this issue since Christmas “has been phenomenal”. “So far, things have improved significantly. We are of course concerned with these issues, but our hands are tied, as are the Guards,” added Mr McGrath. Cllr Maura Byrne said the issue was only being “kicked down the road. If I moved in there, I would be moved on fairly quickly.”
