Roscrea cyclists recover after Mizen to Malin charity trek

After their energy sapping cycle from Mizen Head to Malin Head in aid of Tipperary Parkinson’s and Roscrea Irish Wheelchair Association our cyclists are now recovering.

After their energy sapping cycle from Mizen Head to Malin Head in aid of Tipperary Parkinson’s and Roscrea Irish Wheelchair Association our cyclists are now recovering.

Our thanks and appreciation to Sean, Lawrence and Eamon and their back-up driver of David for the tremendous challenge and to all who greeted and supported them over the days in particular all those who sponsored them. Sponsorship will continue and be accepted to end of August with conclusion on Saturday, September 14. Presentations of cheques will be made in the Auburn Lodge at 3pm, with music and refreshments. Please return all cards and sponsorship to Marion Burke, 18 Wolfe Tone Terrace, Nenagh. We must not forget the thank the gallant ladies from Thurles, Holycross and Upperchurch areas for their participation in the Mini Marathon in aid of Tipperary PAI.

There is a special celebration to mark the contribution of Paddy and Josie Cooney to set dancing in their home parish of Moycarkey Borris and throughout the county on August 30 in Youngs, The Ragg, at 8pm. Tickets are €5. Paddy is an active member of Tipperary Branch of Parkinson’s and has also organised a Vintage Tractor run on Sunday, November 10.

Neurologist Dr Helena Moore will be guest speaker at a meeting in the Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh, on Friday, September 27, at 7.30pm. Admission is free. It is open to all Parkinson’s patients and especially those recently diagnosed.
