Anam Cara - Support Meeting

Anam Cara is holding its monthly support meeting on Monday, 24th June from 19:30 to 21:00 at The Horse & Jockey Hotel, Thurles. This event is free, open to all bereaved parents and each Anam Cara support group has a bereavement therapist present to answer any questions parents may have and signpost them to other services that are available in the area.

We had our last meeting on 5th June before the Summer break. We are having our usual outing to Holycross

for Stations of the Cross and hopefully a visit to the gift shop, followed by food in Glasheens. Congratulations

to our long serving members who received Certificate of Achievements. Congrats to Breda Bermingham for

winning the competition. Wishing every member a happy and enjoyable Summer. Let’s hope the sun keeps

shining. Hope to see ye all back on 4th September.

Club For Dancing

The Club’s Dance on Sunday, 2nd June was as always a great night of dancing to the music of ‘Brendan McGee’ and enjoyed by all. M.C. on the night was Joe Troy. The Club’s next Dance in the Premier Ballroom, Thurles is this Sunday, 16th June, from 9 p.m. to 12 midnight, admission is 8 euro. Music by ‘Checkers’. Come along and enjoy a good night of dancing for pleasure.

Thurles Special Olympic Club

Unfortunately we have come to the end of our season which for some reason seems to come round quicker every year, there are only 3 nights left but they are a very important 3 weeks. This week is our last week to practice as on the 19th June we have our annual competitions in our 3 disciplines, Spot Shot, 10 Metre Dribble and Target Pass. All three disciplines I’m sure will be keenly contested as usual and we wish all our athletes the very best of luck. Don’t forget Wednesday, 19th June from 7 to 8pm in the Sarsfields Centre.
