energy saving programme in Nenagh houses

Nenagh Town Council is to upgrade its 148 houses under two energy saving schemes. The Tipperary Energy / SSAI scheme wil see 31 houses in St Joseph’s Park upgraded; 13 in Shamrock Court; 25 in Cormack Drive, and 17 in Woodville Close.

A further 62 in other areas will be improved under a Department of the Environment / Electric Ireland scheme.

The work will involve replacing open fires with stoves, external insulation and cavity wall and attic insulation, town manager Marcus O’Connor told councillors.
