North Tipperary Independent Councillor Jim Ryan has this week notified the Tipperary Star that Rehabilitation works will commence on Archestown Bridge on Monday 19th August. In a statement Cllr Ryan states that the work will continue until 6th September ( 2 weeks ) and will involve a major repairs job on the bridge which is in a dangerous state.
The bridge currently has a weight restriction on it and only allows one lane traffic. This job will bring the bridge back up to a safe standard and when finished will take the current restrictions off it.
During the repairs the road from the bridge to Galboola cross will be closed off to allow the works to be carried out safely. Diversions will be in operation and will be clearly signposted along the Mill Road.
This will cause a certain amount of inconvenience but I would plead with people to have patience as this job has to be carried out due to the unstability of the bridge on this very busy road.
I have been assured that the contractors will engage with locals and have given a commitment that they will carry out the works within the agreed timescale with as little disruption and inconvenience to locals as is possible.
Templetuohy Cemetery Mass
Mass will be celebrated in Templetuohy Cemetery on Thursday August 15th at 7.30pm. If raining Mass will be in Templetuohy Church.
