Jewellery Display

“Forget Me Not Jewellery” will be on display and for sale in Templemore Library for the month of June, beginning on Wednesday June 5th.

This beautiful craft, hand made by sisters Regina King and Valerie Sargent in their spare time creates a stunning display and there will be as always, an individual piece suitable as a gift for any occasion. All proceeds will go to the Alzheimer’s Association. Do support this most worthy cause.

Sr. Aine Historical Society

The Society will be heading to Cork for its outing on Saturday June 22nd. The trip will include a tour of the Terence McSwiney memorial museum in the morning followed by a guided tour of Kilmichael, Beal na Blath and Crossbarry in the afternoon. This promises to be a most interesting day out and is open to both members and non-members of the society. Anyone interested in travelling please leave your name and a contact number behind the desk in the Library no later than Friday June 7th. Estimated cost for bus and tour guide is 25 euro.

Our very talented local crafts people will also be there exhibiting and selling their wonderfully handcrafted items of wood, jewellery & pottery and horticulturalist Ultan Nesbitt will also be there to provide your summer bedding. Why not call in to our now famous Tearooms and enjoy “The Cottage Experience” - a warm welcome awaits you.

Upcoming events - Annual Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Friday 7th June (Feast of the Sacred Heart) at 7pm. Pioneer seeking Gold & Silver Jubilee pins are asked to contact any member of the committee. Annual Pilgrimage to Knock on Sunday 9th June. Bus leaving from Town Hall at 8.20am sharp – Fare: €15.

Margaret O’Sullivan Féile

The Feile will take place in Killea next week-end, 1st-3rd June. Traditional Irish music, singing & dance festival featuring kids & adults Ceili, search for a star talent competition, music & Sean Nós workshops, etc. Your support at some or all of the events would be appreciated.

Barbecue in Templetuohy

A monster Barbecue will take place in Duffe’s Bar & Lounge Templetuohy on Sunday next June 2nd.

The day’s events will begin with a TugOWar Tournament which will run from 2 – 5pm. This is the Marian McDonald Memorial and all entrants are welcome. The Barbecue will be served from 4 – 7pm.

Teas/Coffees served. Admission: €8, proceeds to the Hospital of the Assumption, Thurles.

Bouncy Castles – Family Fun Day – Face Painting – Spot Prizes Galore.

Music: Midnight Run, 5 – 8pm, and Hot Ice from 10 til late…..
