CCS annual student awards

The annual student Awards ceremony was held on last Friday night. Guest of honour this year was Dr. Stewart Hickey, a native of `Ashvale`, Hore Abbey, Cashel. Stewart sat the Leaving Certificate at CCS in 2001 and went on to study electronic engineering at U.L. Throughout his years at university he distinguished himself in his chosen field of study and was ultimately conferred with a doctorate (PhD.). More recently he added an MBA to his list of academic achievements.

Student of the Year

Highlight of the night was the naming of the student of the year 2013. This year’s winner is Kevin O’Donnell. A Sixth Year student, Kevin is son of Seán and Mary O’Donnell, Knockevan, Clerihan. Throughout his six years at the Community School, Kevin has entered wholeheartedly into the ethos of the school, giving of his very best in classwork while engaging with great spirit and leadership in the school’s extracurricular and voluntary programmes. Congratulations!
