JK Brackens Scor

The club hosted the County Final of Scór Sinsir im the Templemore Arms hotel recently. The ballroom was packed to capacity with over five hundred people attending what was described as the best final in recent years. The event was run in conjunction with the launch of the “Gathering” in Templemore and was attended by the Mayor Michael Ryan and many of the local town councillors along with visitors from Italy and France who were guests of the Town Council and the St Patrick’s day festival committee.

The club were represented in three competitions, Figure Dancing; Chloe Giles, Yvonne Meade, Mairead Delaney, Lisa Fogarty, Ciara Bourke, Jennie Moore, Nicole Joyce, Katherese Meehan. Recitation: Noel Joyce and Set Dancing: Katherese Meehan, Nicole Joyce, Mairead Delaney, Jennie Moore, Tommy Mallen, Eoin Hammill, Stuart Gallagher, Dominic Gallagher. County titles were won in Recitation and Set Dancing. Well done to all our participants on their respective performances, also to our Scór Chairman John Egan who acted as Fear an Tí for the night.The winners now progress to the Munster final which will also be hosted by the club and will take place in Our Lady’s secondary school hall on Saturday 6th April commencing at 6pm. This will be an all ticket final with special half price tickets available for students.

The club’s Scór na nÓg set dancers will feature on TG 4 Scór Encore programme on tomorrow Sunday 24th March at 7.30pm. JK Brackens are one of only four Tipperary clubs to reach this stage of the competition, well done to all concerned.
