In the last 12 months a number of locals have had their details recorded on an ‘Older Persons’ register maintained by Templemore Garda. This register contains the names, directions to their homes and other information which people have supplied by completing a short form and is designed to assist the Gardai in getting to the homes of people, either elderly or living alone as quickly as possible in the case of an emergency. Anyone wishing to be included on the register can complete a form, available at the locations mentioned already and return it to a member of the Community Alert committee, Ken Murphy, Boulabeha, Francis Cleere, Boulabeha, Paddy Leahy, Killoran, Billy Maher, Manselstown or directly to Garda Kevin Joyce, Templemore Garda Station. Finally if you see something that looks suspicious ring the Gardai at Templemore (0504) 31011 or in an emergency dial 999 or 112.
