Irish Blood Transfusion Services - A big thank you for all who attended the recent clinic in Rathdowney. A total 110 attended including eight new donors and fifteen lapsed donors. Cycling Club - On Easter Sunday the Ossory Cycling Club will hold three road races in the area. Starting at the G.A.A. Centre, Rathdowney en route to Coolfin Cross, to Larry Cross, left to Knockaroo to the Green Roads, left to Donaghmore and back to Rathdowney. Two laps of this route will be done, a total of 32 miles. All residents will be notified nearer to the cycling event.

Meeting - Ossory Agricultural Show Society Co. Ltd. held a meeting on Monday, 4th March at the Show Grounds. Show Chairman welcomed all present and declared the meeting opened. Show Secretary, Catherine Fitzgerald read the minutes from the last meeting which were proposed, seconded and signed. There was a good attendance, the Show Chairman regretted hearing that some committee members were not well and sent get well wishes to all. The Annual Show affiliated to County Shows, I.S.A. and I.P.S. will be held on Sunday, 28th July in the Show Grounds at Coolfin Cross. All classes as always will apply. Computers - Computer courses continue every Monday in the Marion Centre. Due to the large numbers attending we have two classes one from 10 to 11.30 a.m. and the second one from 11.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The course will run for six weeks and is sponsored by Laois Partnership. Bingo - Every Tuesday night we have Bingo in the Community Centre, Rathdowney at 8.30 p.m. Great prizes and raffle. Do come along and bring your friends, a great night is assured.

St. Vincent de Paul - The committee are holding an Easter draw on Thursday, 27th March at 3 p.m. in their shop on The Square. Great prizes, please support.
