TIPPERARY is in the pipeline for a jobs boost if new plans lodged by Applegreen Service Areas Ltd are approved by the planning offices of both North and South Tipperary County Councils.

Applegreen proposes to build a major new service station and food court near the M8 motorway at Cloghabreeda and Kedrah, Cahir, including provision for 70 car parking spaces, while there are similar plans in train for Birdhill in west Tipperary.

The full development near Cahir would consist of a new access to and from the N24; provision of a 3-pump island car/van forecourt and a 1-pump island HCV forecourt, both with canopy; underground fuel storage tanks and associated pipe work; an amenity building (966.6sqm) comprising a convenience shop (100sqm) and ancillary store room, freezer, chiller, manager’s office, comms room, staff toilets, staff changing area, staff tea station and cleaners room.
