Childminding Course - Are you a childminder or thinking of becoming a childminder? An “introduction to childminding course” will take place in Kilkenny on Saturday, November 10th and Saturday, November 17th, from 10am to 4pm each day. Open Day - The Kilkenny Campus of NUI Maynooth, College Rd, Kilkenny (adjoining St. Kieran’s College) would like to invite all students interested in taking the first year of their BA Degree in Kilkenny City to join us at our Open Day on Saturday, November 10th at 12 noon. Students choosing to take this exciting new option will benefit by taking the 1st year of their BA degree close to home in a friendly, learner-centred environment, before moving to the main NUI Maynooth Campus for 2nd and 3rd year. Those living locally will also have the advantage of making significant savings on travel and accommodation costs. Boxing Club - A new Boxing Club was formed in Urlingford on Monday night last. A meeting was held at which a volunteer committee was elected. A number of male coaches signed up but we still require a number of female coaches who will be fully trained through the club. We look forward to the support of the community. November Mass for the Dead - A special Remembrance Mass, to remember all our deceased relatives and friends, will take place in Urlingford Church on Saturday, November 10th at 7pm. All parishioners are encouraged to join us. We will remember in particular, those who have died in the past year.

Shoe Box Appeal - An average size shoebox or plastic container covered in Christmas paper can be filled with some of the following items: pens, pencils, copies, colouring book, felt pens, eraser, sharpener, solar calculator, toothbrush and paste, wrapped soap, brush, comb, facecloth, hat, scarf, underwear, socks, sweets, no chocolate, cuddly toy, doll, car, musical instrument skipping rope, makeup etc. If you would like to donate an item or a shoe box contact Ann Marie Scully Quinlan on (087) 2238737 for more information.
