Wedding Bells - The marriage was solemnised on Friday, June 17th between Jacintha O’Brien, daughter of Betty O’Brien and the late Billy O’Brien of Donaghmore and James O’Brien, son of Tony O’Brien and Miriam O’Brien of Wicklow. The bestman was Tony O’Brien, the groomsmen were Damien Abbott and John McCormack. The matron of honour was Nicola Talbot while the bridesmaids were Michelle Abbott and Yvonne Talbot. Page boys were Aaron Talbot and Jack Abbott. Flower girls were Leona and Allie Talbot. Readers were Bill O’Brien and Yvonne Scullion. The reception was held in the Bridge House Hotel, Tullamore attended by family and friends. The honeymoon is being spend in the South coast. The happy couple are wished every blessing and success in their future life together.

The Late Mrs. Mary Conroy - The death occurred on Thursday, June 16th peacefully at the Regional Hospital, Portlaois of Mary (Molly) Conroy (nee Grogan) of Drim, Mountrath. She was a most remarkable lady who had reached a great age and was a wonderful mother to her large family. She had several friends in this area. Molly was predeceased by her husband Fintan and her son Stephen. She is very sadly mourned by her heartbroken daughters and sons, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister-in-law, extended family, relatives, neighbours, friends and everyone who knew Molly. Reposing was at her residence. Removal took place on Sunday morning to St. Edmunds Church, Castletown. Requiem Mass was celebrated and the burial followed to St. Fergal’s Cemetery, Camross. May her noble and gentle soul rest in peace.
