Cycling was truly celebrated in South Tipperary during Bike Week 2013 which ran from Saturday 15th to Sunday 23rd of June.
In testing conditions on Saturday, (June 22), nearly 150 cyclists took to the roads as part of the Emergency Cycle 55k and 100k in aid of Acquired Brain Injury Ireland, which went through Clonmel, Cashel, Cahir, Clogheen, Ardfinnan and returned to Clonmel. The rain stayed away on Sunday morning for the 5km Family Cycle run by South Tipperary County Council in conjunction with Clonmel Cycling Club and South Tipperary Sports Partnership.
Councillor Pat English, Mayor of Clonmel launched the event for over 90 participants who rode through the streets of Clonmel with the assistance of Clonmel Gardai. This year a 1km route was organised for the Under-Six participants which proved a great success while the older children completed the 5k route.
