Opening of Moyne Community Centre

After over two years of planning and development the newly rebuilt and reconstructed Moyne Community Centre will be officially opened this weekend.

After over two years of planning and development the newly rebuilt and reconstructed Moyne Community Centre will be officially opened this weekend.

The Community Centre was originally built in 1830 as a national school and served the community in that capacity until 1949 when the current school was built in Moyne village. In 201 major reconstruction took place which included demolishing part of the old hall , raising the roof and building new offices ,stage, fire escape, kitchen and a balcony .The opening weekend commences with social dancing on Friday night to The Castle Trio 9pm-12.30 .On Saturday night the local school have their annual school concert and on Sunday evening the official opening takes place with the ceremonial ribbon being cut by Terry McKenna HR manager of the Lisheen Mine and Michael Murray CEO of the North Tipperary Leader Partnership. Proceedings commence at 7pm .All are welcome.
