Juvenile GAA - Last week was very busy for the Juvenile Club. The U6s played against Holycross last Saturday morning in Boherlahan. The U10’s had two games, firstly against Clonoulty last Tuesday and against Knockavilla, also played last Saturday in Boherlahan. The U12 group 3 had their shield semi-final last Tuesday against Upperchurch, and the U14’s play their shield semi-final against Moyne this Thursday 20th September at 6pm in Templetuohy. The main focus of attention was the U16 mid semi-final against Loughmore which was played in Holycross last Saturday at 12 noon. It was an incredibly exciting game from the start to the final whistle. The match went to extra time and it was in the last minutes of the contest that Loughmore pulled away from us. Our players played some great hurling but were bitterly disappointed with the final result. Great credit to all involved, their mentors Pat, Conor, James and Denis, thanks to our loyal supports also. Please see the full match report in the Mid Bord na nOg page. The panel was Stephen Hickey, Bill Byrne, William Purcell (capt), Laurence Devane, Richard O’Dwyer, Killian Maher, Michael O’Sullivan, David Ryan, Niall Manton, Tomas Ryan, John Walsh, Darragh Dwan, Evan Dwan, Sean O’Connor, James O’Sullivan, James Kirby, Hugh McCan, Jordan Moore, Jimmy Cawley, Shane Dwan, Cathal Darcy. Saturday was a very busy day apart from the mid final, we also had the night at Thurles Greyhound track, where there was a buster draw supporting the Juvenile Club, the main race been the J.J McGrath Memorial Cup. Thanks to all for coming along on the night, the ticket sellers and the McGrath family for their continued support.
