Tidy Towns Report - We obtained 256 marks out of a possible 400 marks in the Tidy Towns competition. Marking would have been higher had all projects and painting been completed before judging took place. This was not possible due to the very wet weather of Spring and Summer. The approach road from Tipperary is marked by the very impressive Grotto which is most interesting because of the natural rock face. The painted ball alley was noted. The school looked well and was adorned with window boxes. The church and its grounds looked very well. In the village the commercial premises are well maintained as is the Credit Union and the Community Centre. The pump and its surroundings look very well. Litter management is very effective. The Millennium Garden beside the river is well maintained and it enhances the village. The residential houses are well painted and their gardens are well maintained. The approach roads are appropriately landscaped. Well done on your achievements to date.
