Wedding Bells - Congratulations and best wishes to Tracey Ryan, daughter of Tommy and Eva, Moyne Village and William Holmes, Limerick who were married at St. Mary’s Church, Moyne on Saturday, 15th September; to Mary Anne Loughnane, daughter of Michael and Bridget, Templetuohy and Liam Ryan, Leugh, Thurles who were married at the Church of the Sacred Heart, Templetuohy on Friday, 14th September and to Denis Connolly, son of Francis and Mary, Moyneard and Claire McCaul who were married in Derry on 4th August.

Late Molly Hanrahan - The death occurred peacefully on 31st August of Mary (Molly) Hanrahan, (nee Fermoyle), Lissanure. She had reached the fine age of 94 and had been a resident of St. Theresa’s Nursing Home, Thurles in recent times. A native of the townland of Clonboo she moved just a short distance down the road on her marriage to her husband Patrick R.I.P. who predeceased her 18 years ago. She was a devoted wife, mother, a caring grandmother and a good neighbour who will be sadly missed.

The removal was from Grey’s Funeral Home to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Templetuohy.

Principal celebrant of her concelebrated Requiem Mass was Fr. Pat Murphy P.P. assisted by Fr. John O’Connell A.P. and Fr. Stephen Carey. Templetuohy Choir provided a fine accompaniment to the ceremony.

Following the Mass, Molly’s mortal remains were laid to rest at Templetuohy Cemetery. Deepest sympathy to her sons, Johnny and Jim, daughters Mary and Cliodhna, grandchildren and extended family. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.

Late Catherine Kiely - The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family on 11th September of Catherine Kiely (nee O’Connell), Ballyknockane and late of Lixnaw, Co.unty Kerry. She had been in failing health for some time but her passing still came as a shock.

She met her husband to be Patsy in Birmingham in the late 1950’s where both had emigrated seeking employment as Ireland endured another recession. They married a few years later and were destined to spend 52 happy years together.

Catherine shared her husband’s passion for greyhounds and was a familiar sight walking out dogs around the roads of Templetuohy. She was a devoted wife, a loving and caring mother and grandmother, a devout christian and a good neighbour who will be sadly missed.

The removal was from her residence to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Templetuohy. Principal celebrant of her concelebrated Requiem Mass was Fr. Pat Murphy P.P. assisted by Fr. John O’Connell A.P.; Fr. Stephen Carey; Fr. Joe Egan P.P. Boherlahan; Fr. Jimmy Egan P.P. Knockavilla and Fr. Liam Everard P.P. Borrisoleigh. Templetuohy Choir, as always provided a fine accompaniment to the liturgy.

Members of Templetuohy Coursing Club provided a guard of honour as Catherine’s mortal remains were laid to rest in Templetuohy Cemetery. Deepest sympathy to her husband Patsy, daughters Dympha and Yvonne, sons-in-law, grandchildren, sister, brother, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. May her soul enjoy eternal rest.

A.G.M. - The A.G.M. of Moyne Bridge Club will take place on this Thursday, 20th September commencing at 8 p.m. and will be followed by the usual game.
