Autumn entertainment at The Source - ready to launch!

The Source Arts Centre in Thurles has the best local, Irish and international entertainment ready to launch this autumn. Indeed, the September to December programme of events is hot off the press and hitting doorsteps this week.

On 'Culture Night' this year The Source will open its doors with a night of free entertainment from Thurles musician Diarmuid Sutton and guests.

The Source Gallery hosts the official opening of Sheenagh Geoghegan’s exhibition Stoma and cake and refreshments will be abundant as The Source celebrates its tenth birthday!

Music fans will be delighted with the return of the of the unmistakeable and charming Jerry Fish while Phil Coulter will entertain once again with his best loved hits and Special Brew - A Ska Tribute is a must for any beat and two-tone fanatics.

Country music just keeps on giving and the Garth Brooks tribute band Friends in Low Places will have them singing in the aisles.

Theatre lovers will be delighted by productions of 'The Birds', 'Far from the Madding Crowd', 'Christmas Gothic' and dynamic duo of the stage Mary MacEvoy and Jon Kenny are back with a John B Keane classic, 'The Successful TD'. Two local drama groups return once more - 'Arsenic and Old Lace' from the Thurles Drama Group and 'Big Maggie' from The Fionn Mac Cumhaill Players.

Families are in for a treat with the Monkeyshine Theatre’s production of 'Voyage' which is touring nationwide this winter, the Paula Lambert Puppet Theatre is back with 'Hansel & Gretel' featuring Bosco and a beautiful new puppet show, 'The Secret Life of Suitcases', is sure to thrill young audiences from the ages of four upwards. If its belly laughs you’re after, look no further than Deirdre O’Kane, David McSavage, Pat Shortt, Al Porter & Neil Delamere.

That’s just a fraction of the line-up, the autumn 2016 brochure is packed with much more including, ballet, classical music, Oscar winning films, post-show discussions with cast and directors, writers workshops and ever popular community panto is back with 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'.
