The organisers of the 18th annual Terryglass Arts Festival have announced an exciting, entertaining and realy diverse programme of events and workshops for this year’s festival which takes place from Wednesday, August 17th to Sunday, August 21st.
Featuring artists and craftspeople of both national and international renown seventy workshops will be held over the five days to provide a weekend bursting with fun-filled entertainment for all the family.
From cupcake decorating to lantern making, wood turning to yoga, there is something for children and adults of all ages!
Festival highlights include stop-motion moviemaking with 'Brick Flicks', where young film makers will collaborate on designing their hand-made sets, scripting their story and filming the results and 'Tin Can Treasures Decoupage', a creative way to up cycle old tin cans for storage.
'The Food for Mood' workshops include a cookery demonstration featuring fresh, local produce and includes a recipe booklet, sampling of the dishes prepared and a refreshing juice on arrival.
Amateur artists will enjoy a relaxed exploration of water colour painting with Rose Carty while craft lovers can drop in to the Copperleaf workshops where they can make a small copper leaf key ring or pendant using recycled copper from old water tanks.
Back by popular appeal are the woodturning workshops with Thomas Adlum. With only five participants per workshops, expert wood turner Thomas Adlum offers a fantastic opportunity to explore this ancient craft in a small group.
Terryglass Arts Festival chairperson Emma Pearce is delighted with the number of workshops offered by this year’s festival: “Terryglass Arts Festival is well known for its high quality participative arts programme and this year we are delighted to have programmed over seventy workshops which we know our visitors will enjoy.
