Clonoulty Rossmore 0-15
Thurles Sarsfields cruised into the Tipperary County senior hurling final with a comprehensive victory over Clonoulty Rossmore this afternoon in Semple Stadium.
The champions led by 0-13 to 0-8 at half time having bagged 0-11 from play. And, though they had missed a number of goal chances in the half, the goal came in the second half when full forward Richie Ruth struck in the 12th minute to end the game as a contest.
Clonoulty Rossmore even missed a penalty in the game with Timmy Hammersley seeing his shot beaten away by keeper Paddy McCormack - how they needed a goal to keep their hopes alive, but it wasn't to be. And, to add to their woes they had corner forward Sean Maher dismissed six minutes from time for a wild swipe on Padraic Maher.
The Blues remain on course in their quest to win three county senior hurling titles in a row for the first time since 1963, '64 and '65.
