We had our final run on the trails for this season in Coolfree on Saturday morning last. It was a cold dry morning but with all the snow we got on Friday most people seemed to stay away, but there was no Ice or Snow on Coolfree as the Sun shone down on us.
We had to stand out in the sunshine as the breeze had a little of winter attached to it. Our numbers were small but we had a lovely group, we handed out a few T-shirts and some Hi Viz jackets, and had the usual refreshments.
Everyone enjoyed the route and some even had a second lap.
Thanks to North Cork AC for their help and we look forward to running the trails again in the Autumn.
The trails are a great place to train and even go for your long run if you don’t fancy the road all the time, so stick with them all year round if you enjoy them.
We also had the Launch of the Ballyhoura Active Series 2016 in Deebert House Hotel in Kilmallock on Friday night last, we had a great night as the clubs showed up in force.
We had an overview of the series 2016 and everyone in the clubs seems to be happy where the series in going. We have Beanie hats and Baseball caps and buffs which we will be handing out at the races during the series. So If you want some of this gear there is a limited amount available and the first ones will be handed out at registration n Rathcoole next Sunday.
The Ballyhoura Active Series starts next Sunday in Rathcoole Co Cork. Rathcoole is west of Mallow just off the N72 heading south full directions are on the website and a course map.
This is the first race in the series and promises to be a great even it is hosted by Duhollow AC and this is their first year in the series.
The Registration will take place in the GAA club house in the Village.
The Course is 5 km and I am told it is very flat and fast, I am looking forward to it and hope to see good support for this new entry as it is a fundraiser for the local school.
