The Premier County was very well represented at the inaugural GAA/GPA Allstars which were anounced in Dublin and presented on Friday evening last.
The Tipp lads travelled en-masse for the event and mixed and mingled with stars from the other counties at the glittering affair which was televised on TV.
In the full back line, Tipperary scopped two awards with Michael Cahill claiming his first after an outstanding season in the number 4 jersey, while Paul Curran added to his already laden list of personal honours with another Allstar.
Padraic Maher completed the defensive kudos for Tipp with three of the six positions in the defence going the way of the blue and gold men.
Lar Corbett was the only Tipp attacker to feature amongst the award winners and his inclusion in the side completed a remarkable treble for Thurles Sarsfields as the mid men claimed three positions on the Allstar team - a huge honour considering that it was only back in 2001 that Eddie Enright claimed the first ever for the club.
A great day also for Durlas Og juvenile GAA club with three of their former players being honoured at the highest level.
And, to maintain the Thurles connection - Paul Curran’s grandfather hailed from the birthplace of the GAA before moving to Mullinahone to spread the gospel.
Congratulations to the four Tipp lads on their fantastic achievement - we look forward to seeing them in action again very soon in the blue and gold jersey.
