The Tipperary GAA Clubs Draw is being promoted in the respective divisions and clubs at present and has been received very well by the Tipperary public.

The draw represents an essential source of funds for clubs and the County Board and without it much of the games and other development work that goes on in the county would simply not be possible.

The draw has helped shape and develop many of the clubs in Tipperary.

Indeed, over the past 25 years (1998-2012) clubs in Tipperary have benefitted to the tune of E16.5 million while a prize fund of E9.7 million has been paid out. Coaching schemes have also benefitted to the tune of E1.6 million while E0.7 million has been approved for schools.

Looking at the past year, for example, some of the big winners in the draw were: the star prize of E30,000 was won by John Percy (JK Bracken’s), E3,000 won by Jim Dwyer (Upperchurch-Drombane), E10,000 was won by Kathleen Hayes (Upperchurch-Drombane), E15,000 by Noreen Murphy, (Upperchurc- Drombane), E10,000 Donal & Edel Pollard (Gortnahoe-Glengoole), E3,000 Noel O’Connor (Cashel King Cormacs), E10,000 Mathew Cahill (Drom & Inch), E3,000 Thomas Fogarty (Upperchurch-Drombane), E3,000 Christy O’Dwyer (Upperchurch-Drombane), E15,000 Mairead Steed (Seán Treacy’s), E10,000 Eamonn O’Doherty (Solohead), E20,000 Vincent Flood (Moycarkey-Borris), E10,000 Tom Noone (Durlas Óg), E3,000 Robert Webster (Loughmore-Castleiney), E3,000 Michael & Mai O’Dwyer (Éire Óg Annacarty) E15,000, Michael Fitzgerald (Solohead), E3,000 PJ Ryan (Éire Óg Annacarty), E15,000 Matt & Anne Talbott (Clonakenny) and E1,000 Tom Collum (JK Bracken’s).
